Make It Mobile

Add a wheeled base to the flat pack reader rail for easy rearranging in your gallery or exhibit space. The casters lock, so the rail stays put once it's in position.

Optional Add-On
The flipbook on a rail top — a designed photo-album spread in sheet protectors on three steel rings

The Flipbook

Three steel rings through the rail top hold ten letter-size pages, and visitors flip through them like a book. Fill the pages yourself, or have us design, print, and load them for $65 each.

The graphics template marks the page zones, so your artwork stays clear.

The rail takes one 47″ × 18″ graphic panel — provide ½″ bleed all around, so artwork runs 48″ × 19″. The 1:1 template marks the flipbook page zones and is editable in Adobe Illustrator. Any large-format print shop can produce it.

// Common Questions

Frequently Asked

Does the reader rail include printed graphics, or just the rail?
You choose right on the product page:
  • Print your own — the finished wooden rail; produce the graphic panel yourself from the free 1:1 template, at any large-format print shop.
  • We print your artwork — we print your finished files on a 3mm aluminum composite (ACM) panel, ready to drop into the rail.
  • We design + print — you supply the text and images, our designers do the exhibit-scale layout, and we print it. The price includes the printing.
Is the rail stable on its own, or does it need to be mounted to something?
It's fully freestanding — once the components bolt together it's a rigid rail. You can anchor to the floor or wall if extra stability is required.
Do the wheels on the dolly lock?
Yes. The casters lock, so once you've rolled the rail where you want it, it stays put. Unlock them when it's time to move again.
How are the graphics prices calculated?
The panel is a fixed 47" × 18" — about 5.9 sq ft. Printing your finished artwork on ACM runs $252. Design-and-print runs $913: rail interpretation is dense, close-reading work, so design takes about 1.5 hours per square foot at our $75/hr rate — roughly 9 hours for this panel — plus the same printing. You supply the text and images; we make them work at exhibit scale.
Can the rail be used outdoors?
No — the wooden rails are built for indoor spaces. For outdoor interpretation, our Waymaker Outdoor Signs are powder-coated steel with UV-stable graphics, made to live outside year-round.
