Graphics worksheets

Every cart starts with the same core graphics package: the side and back panels, the 16"×30" pivot panel (both sides), and a 24"×72" banner — about 30 square feet. The add-ons bring their own templates: four 10"×13" slide-out panels (both sides) with the pull-out card layer, and the reader rail's insert. The worksheet has a 1:1 template for every piece, so any large-format print shop can produce them, or we can print from the same files.

Retractable wheels

Retractable wheels extend for movement but disappear for display. So you get mobility to rearrange easily when needed, but elegant looking furniture when on display.

Note: StoryCarts are best used within a single building. They're not designed for outdoor use or frequent venue changes.

Frequently Asked

Do I have to buy graphics from Upland?
No. The graphics worksheet has a 1:1 template for every piece — the side and back panels, the pivot panel, the banner, and the optional slide-out panels and reader rail insert — so any large-format print shop can produce them. If you'd rather hand it off, we print your finished artwork from $580, or design and print the whole package from $1,955; the configurator prices update live with the add-ons you choose.
How is the design price calculated?
By piece and content density. Atmospheric side and back panels design quickly, the banner is mid-weight, and dense interpretive pieces — the pivot panel, the slide-out cards, the reader rail — take the most time. The base package works out to about 18 hours at our $75/hr design rate: $1,375, and the configurator updates the design price live as you add pieces. You supply the text and images; we make them work at exhibit scale. Design work extends the lead time from about 6 weeks to about 11.
How does it ship?
By freight carrier, on a single pallet roughly 48" × 40" × 38". You'll see an exact freight quote at checkout before you pay.
What is the banner made of?
Your choice, at the same price. The standard banner is single-sided dye-sublimated fabric — it has a soft, nice hand, but the weave is slightly translucent and only prints on one side, so it's best where visitors approach from the front. If the cart will sit out in a room, choose the double-sided banner instead: printed on opaque 13 oz vinyl, it reads correctly from both sides.
How big is the tabletop display case?
The base is 21" × 15" with a 10" tall acrylic vitrine over it. Usable interior space is 20½" × 14½" — the ¼" acrylic walls take a quarter inch from each side — by 9" tall, since the ¾"-tall portion of the base sits up inside the vitrine and the acrylic top is ¼" thick. The case is deliberately sized to store and ship inside the cart itself — it rides along on the same pallet, so it never changes your freight quote, and between exhibits it tucks away behind the cart's door.
Can a StoryCart travel between venues?
It's happiest in one building. The small retractable wheels are made for rearranging galleries and rolling into storage — not for loading docks, trailers, or outdoor use. For a traveling exhibit that ships venue to venue, look at the Bison Crate, which is its own shipping container.
